Entrapment Shoot
In this project I wanted to portray Entrapment. I created a garment similar to a wedding dress and styled the shoot to feature bondage like accessories to trap the model.
The main themes of the project was about being entrapped in a relationship, lifestyle or situation. I wanted the middle chest part of the garment to be missing, to show the vacant emptiness of something being missing or wrong and connote the feeling of when your hearts not completely in something. There was a lot of draping fabric involved in the garment, to make it heavy and hard to move in so that the wearer was stuck and found it difficult to move/escape. I also fashioned a piece of lace as a head-dress when styling the garment to link to the themes of bondage/trapping themes. It restricts the identity of the wearer just as the rest of the garment restricts.
